Journal of Library & Information Studies (ISSN 1606-7509; former title: Journal of Library Science) is an open access journal published semi-annually by the Department of Library & Information Science of the National Taiwan University. The content is published simultaneously in paper and electronic format. Submission of Chinese or English manuscripts in the areas of library science, information science, computer science, bibliography, documentation, archives, instructional technologies, or other related fields is highly welcomed. JLIS is currently fully sponsored by the National Taiwan University. We do not charge publication fees from the authors.

Professor Chen’s research expertise mainly includes data mining, artificial intelligence, mobile and ubiquitous learning. He has been publishing in various SSCI, SCI, and EI journals.   6. The Journal of Library and Information Studies, JLIS (圖書資訊學刊; ISSN: 1606-7509) has been evaluated as one of the Taiwan Social Sciences Citation Index (TSSCI) Tier 1 (top-ranked) journals.
  7. JLIS adopts the CC BY-NC-ND under Creative Commons Attributions 4.0 International as open access attribution.
  8. JLIS is honored to be ranked as a top-class journal (Class A) in the 2014 Journal Evaluation Program executed by the Research Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences, Ministry of Science & Technology.
  9. The entire content of JLIS from the year of 1967  has been uploaded to the NTU Institutional Repository system for public access and permanent preservation.
  10. Starting from volume 8, number 1 (2009: June), JLIS will offer an extended abstract in English for each article written in Chinese in order to enhance international scholarly communication and promote the exchange and sharing of research findings of Chinese LIS researchers. JLIS editors welcome submissions of original research papers of the LIS fields written in Chinese or English from all corners of the world.
  11. JLIS is now included in ProQuest/CSA's Library & Information Science Abstracts (LISA).
  12. JLIS is now included in Ebsco's Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts (LISTA), a free-of-charge bibliographic database for library and information professionals. JLIS and Ebsco have also achieved an agreement that the entire JLIS content will be accessible via Ebsco fulltext databases.
  13. JLIS is now listed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). The journal staff are working very hard to upload the article-level metadata to DOAJ. Now all of the JLIS content is searchable in DOAJ upon completion.
  14. JLIS is now included in Google Scholar.
